Restorative Dentistry

Restorative Dentistry
FOR A HEALTHY, WELL- FUNCTIONING MOUTH

While cosmetic dentistry focuses on aesthetics, restorative dentistry concentrates on the restoring the functional state of the teeth and their supporting structures.

Millennium Dental provides a comprehensive range of restorative services, including fillings, crowns, bridges, and implants. The goal of these foundational procedures is to keep your mouth healthy and functional.

Fillings

Whether you’re getting new fillings or require replacement for old silver mercury amalgam fillings, our process for tooth repair benefits the entire tooth.

We use the very latest technology of synthetic composites and ceramics for tooth repair. These are natural looking because they can be made to match the shade of your natural teeth.

Crowns

If you have a tooth that is severely decayed, cracked or broken, or in danger of cracking or breaking, a crown may be the best solution. A dental crown or ‘cap’ is fitted onto a tooth when it has been damaged or decayed to the point that the tooth is significantly weakened.

A crown looks and functions like a natural tooth. It is custom-made to match the contours of your tooth and fitted to cover the tooth completely and protect your tooth from further damage. Crowns can be made of gold, porcelain or ceramic. They strengthen and protect your teeth, and can be a great improvement to your smile.

Root Canals

A root canal is performed to remove infected tissue from the nerve canal of a tooth. This process can save your tooth. The alternative is to have the tooth removed and replaced with an implant or bridge.

If you experience pain or soreness in any of your teeth, it may be possible to save the tooth with root canal therapy (endodontics), provided the problem is identified early. The process for this is to clean the infected area, fill the canal, and then seal it to prevent further infection.

CEREC Crowns

Millennium Dental utilizes a process called CEREC, which uses a ceramic material that closely matches your natural teeth – not just in colour and appearance – but in the ability to expand or contract as your natural teeth do.

Using digital modeling, the restoration procedure with CEREC is done in a single appointment, start to finish, so you leave the office same day with your dental restoration completed.

Bridges

Missing teeth can result in serious problems that should not be ignored.

If you are missing one or more teeth, your remaining teeth can begin to drift out of position and this can result in changes in your bite. A bridge is a group of interconnecting crowns that is used to stabilize your bite and restore form and function. It also prevents further damage to your teeth and gums and creates a much-improved smile.

Reconstructive

Illness, accidents and extensive wear can result in the need to rebuild teeth and restore the symmetry that creates a beautiful smile.

Millennium Dental offers a range of reconstructive procedures aimed at restoring symmetry, including gum dentistry (periodontics), tooth alignment (orthodontics), oral surgery, root canal therapy (endodontics), and restorative dentistry (prosthodontics). All services are provided by our general dentists.

If you are a candidate for a reconstructive procedure, we will work with you to thoroughly assess your needs and develop a long-term treatment plan.
