Millennium Dental is proud to offer Children’s Dentistry, dental services to patients of any age – including children and teenagers. As parents ourselves, we understand that young children have unique fears and concerns when it comes to visiting the dentist and we do our very best to alleviate those fears. Visits should be enjoyable, and we are committed to ensuring that the dental care we provide is of the highest quality in a comfortable, caring, and friendly environment so that children have a positive experience each and every time. Our goal is that children develop and maintain a consistent oral hygiene routine that will last into adulthood to help keep smiles healthy and clean.

Millennium Dental believes that children should begin their dental experiences at an early age to help prepare them for a lifetime of good oral care and hygiene. We follow the Canadian Dental Association’s recommendation that children have an assessment by a dentist within 6 months of the eruption of their first tooth or by one year of age, whichever comes first.

At Millennium Dental, we believe that the first few experiences at the dentist help to establish a basis for a lifetime of consistent oral care. Dental visits should be fun and enjoyable, while also informative and educational. We place a strong emphasis on preventative dentistry, to help children avoid tooth and gum problems in the future, while also inspiring them to take better care of their teeth. Remember – when your child’s first tooth appears, it is time for an examination by a dentist!

• Take your child for a tour of the office
• Review with them what the dentist will be doing during their visit
• Speak positively about our own dental experience
• Examine their teeth, mouth, and gums
• Evaluate any adverse habits like thumb sucking
• Check to see if they require fluoride
• Educate them about cleaning their teeth and gums
• Help you determine a schedule for their regular dental visits
